Job summary

Vulcan Materials Company is seeking an equipment technician to join our plant teams. The role focuses on maintaining and repairing diesel-powered mobile equipment critical to aggregates production, with emphasis on safety and reliability.

You will perform inspections, record service data, and assist in operating heavy equipment to keep operations running smoothly under the Vulcan Way standards.

Qualifications

• Experience with diesel or heavy construction equipment.
• Knowledge of servicing heavy construction equipment.
• Ability to work overtime and extended hours.
• Knowledge of industrial tools and maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities

• Promote Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards.
• Repair and Maintain Mobile Equipment. Service, repair, adjust, and test all mobile equipment that operates throughout the plant in order to maximize performance and limit downtime.
• Inspect Equipment and Material. Inspect all mobile equipment to identify and troubleshoot the cause of errors. Perform repairs to address problems when necessary.
• Handle and Move Objects. Handle, install, position, and move parts, materials, and industrial hand tools in a safe manner throughout the shop and plant.
• Document and Record Information. Ensure correct and accurate documentation is completed on a daily and monthly basis regarding all mobile equipment. Enter and maintain service reports for all the mobile equipment in written or electronic form.
• Operate Equipment. Assist in driving heavy equipment and vehicles throughout the plant when necessary in order to ensure production continues in an efficient manner.
• Perform General Physical Activities. Perform physical activities that require moving your whole body and considerable use of your arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
