Job summary

Thompson Tractor Company, Inc. in Mobile, AL is seeking a Rental Store Shop Technician to perform minor repairs, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting on Thompson Rents equipment. You will work in the shop, follow safety standards, and order/return parts as needed.

Requirements include a high school diploma, about 1 year of mechanical repair experience, basic PC skills, and a valid driver’s license. CDL/Med Card and MVR are preferred or required per policy.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of mechanical repair experience or equivalent education.
• Experience using personal computers and basic typing skills.
• Med Card and CDL preferred; MVR required.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to safety standards and procedures.
• Plans and performs minor repairs with proper tools and procedures.
• Works on engines, hydraulics, transmissions and electrical components; disassemble and reassemble; perform adjustments as needed.
• Performs preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
• Uses service information systems effectively.
• Orders and returns parts promptly for assigned jobs.
• Tests and adjusts components for optimal performance.
• Works independently in the shop.
• Must have a valid driver’s license to be eligible for hire.
