Job summary

James River Equipment in Charlotte is seeking experienced technicians for our shop team to diagnose, repair, and maintain a fleet of John Deere machines in a busy shop environment.

As a Heavy Equipment Shop Technician, you will address customer questions, perform maintenance, and ensure quality repairs while following safety procedures. This full-time role offers growth and competitive pay based on experience.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn; experience as mechanic/technician on heavy equipment preferred.
• Experience with basic diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment.
• Certified Service Technician or Mechanic certification preferred.
• Strong time management and communication skills.
• HS diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic diagnostics and repairs on equipment as requested by the Service Manager and Service Writer.
• Prepares reports and forms for work assignments.
• Maintains shop, vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment.
• Follows safety rules and regulations during tasks.
• Completes disassembly and inspection to order parts and schedule machine work.
• Maintain records of time, parts, and supplies used.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent experience

Basic Service Technician or Mechanic certification
