Job summary

ASCO Equipment in Oklahoma City is seeking Heavy Equipment Service Technicians for shop and field work. Experience with diesel engines, hydraulics or advanced electronics is preferred, but entry-level training is provided on the job.

You will troubleshoot, repair and maintain heavy equipment, complete work orders, and report to the service manager. ASCO rewards technicians based on experience, skills and work ethic, with a focus on safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years minimum in shop/field heavy equipment troubleshooting and repair.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical theories.
• Ability to multi-task and follow procedures.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and independent judgement.
• Must maintain positive working relationships and manage difficult situations.
• Must obtain forklift license.
• Must furnish tools suitable for heavy equipment repair.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and perform complex repairs in shop or field (pumps, hydraulics, engines, transmissions, HVAC, electrical).
• Perform preventative maintenance as scheduled.
• Complete work orders in a timely manner.
• Open line of communication with service manager.
• Maintain daily truck inspection logs and keep a clean/work area.
• Good written and verbal communication for daily reporting.
• Use computers to transmit information via email.

Job description

ASCO Equipment has career opportunities for Heavy Equipment Service Technicians in Oklahoma City, Ok. Shop and Field positions available. Experience with Diesel Engines, Hydraulics or Advanced Electronics is preferred, however, entry-level skill set will be provided on the job training. The Service Technician is responsible for providing high-quality repair service on heavy equipment in order to meet customer needs in a responsive, friendly, educated, and timely manner. Service Technicians work with all departments to respond to the customer’s needs. ASCO Equipment’s pay scale rewards Service Technicians based on experience, technical skills and work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and perform complex repairs correctly in the shop or field including pumps, hydraulics, engines, transmissions, HVAC, and electrical issues
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as schedule dictates
• Complete work orders in a timely manner
• Open line of communication with service manager
• Maintain daily truck inspection logs while keeping a clean/orderly truck and work area
• Good written & verbal communication skills needed for daily reporting
• Good computer literacy skills needed for transmitting information via email

Basic Qualifications

• 2-3 year min. of shop/field heavy equipment troubling and repair Technical Certifications or Associate’s Degree

• Ability to work with limited supervision and a certain degree of independent judgement

• Must be able to obtain a forklift license
• Must furnish tools suitable for Heavy Equipment repair
• Must have a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record

Physical Requirements

• Ability to maneuver around/crawl under equipment in order to conduct repairs
• Ability to work safely in all weather conditions
• Must be able to properly lift and handle heavy loads up to 55 lbs
• Ability to diagnose and trouble-shoot equipment visibly and audibly
