Job summary

Morgan Corp. is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support our fleet, maintenance, and heavy equipment operations in Spartanburg, SC.

This role bridges equipment operations and safety, requiring practical hands-on experience and the ability to discuss repairs, maintenance, and shop hazards with skilled tradespeople. The ideal candidate will have mechanical knowledge, a minimum of 2 years in safety or related fields, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in safety, construction management, engineering, business, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in safety, maintenance, fleet operations, equipment management, or related field.
• OSHA/DOT knowledge and fleet compliance understanding.
• OSHA 510/511, CHST, CSP, SMS or equivalent certifications preferred.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety management software systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety programs for equipment operations and maintenance.
• Serve as primary safety resource for Equipment Division personnel (mechanics, welders, technicians, drivers, supervisors).
• Conduct safety observations, audits, inspections, and risk assessments in shop and field environments.
• Support DOT compliance efforts and driver qualification programs.
• Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Facilitate Job Safety Analysis development for maintenance and repair activities.
• Travel to project sites (0–15%) to support field operations and compliance.
• Provide safety performance updates and advisories to Equipment Division leadership.
