Job summary

The City of Westfield is seeking a Special Heavy Motor Equipment Operator for the Department of Public Works. Qualifications

• CDL Class A license and relevant DOT endorsements, or ability to obtain within six months.

• Knowledge of hazardous and safety precautions in operating equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain dump trucks, backhoes, rollers, loaders, graders and any and all specialized equipment used by the DPW.
• Undertake general labor in conjunction with assigned duties as directed by the highway and sewer supervisor.
• Service equipment with fuel, oil, or coolant and perform minor repairs.
• Perform required vehicle or equipment safety checks and maintain logs.
• Work may include manual labor tasks and other related duties.
