Job summary

The O in Hyde Park & Poughkeepsie, NY is seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators for full-time construction work in Hyde Park and surrounding Dutchess County. Overtime is available and paid per federal and NYS rules.

Candidates should have 4+ years of operating heavy equipment and a strong focus on safety and reliability on active sites. Responsibilities include performing excavation and site work, reading plans, conducting pre-use inspections, and coordinating with crew members.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of heavy equipment operating experience.
• Current OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 card preferred.
• CDL is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy equipment on active construction sites.
• Perform excavation, grading, site work, material handling, and related construction activities.
• Follow site plans, layouts, grades, specifications, and supervisor direction.
• Conduct daily pre-operation inspections.
• Identify and report equipment or safety concerns.
• Perform basic equipment care and routine maintenance as appropriate.
• Coordinate with supervisors, laborers, truck drivers, and other site personnel.
• Follow all company, OSHA, and job-site safety procedures.
• Help maintain a safe, productive, and efficient work environment.

Skills

4+ years heavy equipment experience

OSHA 10/30 preferred

CDL a plus

Safe operation on active construction
