Job description

Description

The Heavy Equipment Operator with NCCCO Certification is responsible for performing safe and precise crane and heavy equipment operations on heavy highway and utility construction projects. This role places a strong emphasis with crane safety standard, and coordination with ground crews to ensure safe and efficient jobsite performance.

Responsibilities

Operate cranes and other heavy equipment (excavators, loader, etc.) as needed.

Perform crane operations in strict accordance with Nation Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) standards.

Interpret and follow load charts, lift plans, and rigging requirements.

Conduct pre-lift planning and participate in lift meetings.

Safely hoist, move, and place materials such as pipe, structures, trench boxes, and equipment.

Maintain full situational awareness during all lifting operations.

Perform trenching, grading, backfilling, and utility installation work.

Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance.

Coordinate with foreman, superintendent, laborers, and other operators on site.

Follow all jobsite safety rules and regulations.

Keep equipment clean and in proper working condition.

Qualifications
