Job summary

Zachry Construction Corporation is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to operate a motor grader and perform lime, flex base, and sub-grade work on our U.S. projects.

The role requires extensive experience with finish blades, good knowledge of grading processes, and a strong commitment to safety and quality. You will read stakes, use grade control systems, inspect equipment daily, and collaborate with the crew to ensure efficient, safe operations.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of experience as a finish blade operator, with a minimum of 5 years in heavy highway equipment operations.
• Extensive knowledge operating a motor grader for fine grading and roadway finishing.
• Experience with grade control systems preferred.
• Physical ability to perform tasks on uneven terrain and climb equipment safely.
• Familiarity with other heavy equipment is a plus.
• Strong focus on safety and quality.

Position Summary

The Heavy Equipment Operator will operate a Motor Grader / Fine-Grade machine and will be responsible for properly operating the motor grader/blade to perform lime, flex base, and general dirt work operations.

What We’re Looking For

• At least 10 years of experience as a finish blade operator, with a minimum of 5 years in heavy highway equipment operations
• Extensive knowledge and experience operating a motor grader for fine grading and roadway finishing
• Previous experience with grade control systems preferred
• Physical ability to perform assigned tasks and to walk on uneven terrain
• Must be able to climb the equipment’s ladder to reach the operator’s seat safely
• General operator skills and familiarity with other heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, loaders, and dozers preferred
• Dependable, self-motivated, and task-oriented with a strong focus on safety and quality
