Job summary

Republic Services in Beatty, Nevada is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely operate light and heavy equipment at our hazardous waste treatment facility and landfill, with a 4/10 schedule Tuesday through Friday.

The role requires 1+ year related experience and the ability to pass a 40-hour HAZWOPER training on hire; you will assist in unloading, load-treated materials for shipment, perform equipment maintenance, and support standard safety practices.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Heavy Equipment Operator safely operates various light and heavy equipment in a hazardous waste treatment processing facility or landfill.

Principle Responsibilities

Assists in off-loading trucks and unloading waste.
Operates equipment to stabilize and handle waste.
Processes treatment of materials and containers.
Samples post-treated materials for testing by laboratory.
Loads cleared post-treatment materials for shipment to landfill or disposal.
Performs general preventative maintenance to equipment and general housekeeping.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation.
Ability to use hand and power tools applicable.
Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance, including (but not limited to): check tire pressure, check oil and water levels.
Demonstrates, accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail.
Must be able to prioritize, stay focused and handle multiple, diverse responsibilities.
A valid driver’s license may be required for some positions.

Minimum Qualifications

1 or more years related experience.
Ability to pass 40-hour HAZWOPER Training upon hire.

This position has a 4/10 schedule working Tuesday - Friday.

Hours: 9:00pm - 7:30am

Pay Range

The pay range for this position is $21.90 to $30.07* which reflects the minimum wage in multiple jurisdictions. The actual range will depend on the locality in which you are hired.
