United Rentals is hiring an Installation Technician II – Matting Solutions for a role based in Madison, MS. You will manage day-to-day operation of heavy equipment in all weather, ensuring safety and efficiency on large construction projects.

Responsibilities include daily safety checks, routine maintenance, logging equipment usage, and clear communication with site personnel. The role requires 1–3 years of heavy equipment experience and a valid driver’s license, with travel and overtime as

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to read and write fluently in English.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• 1–3 years of experience operating multiple heavy equipment types on large construction projects.
• Ability to operate equipment independently with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of safety hazards in construction and inspection principles.
• Skill in reading and interpreting Access and Construction Plans.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Willingness to travel during weeknights/weekends and perform extensive overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily safety and maintenance checks with proper documentation per policies.
• Participate in routine maintenance and ensure heavy equipment is safely stored.
• Communicate effectively with site personnel and maintain safety practices.
• Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain daily logs of equipment usage and maintenance.
• Understand ground signals and maintain eye contact with ground personnel.
• Other duties as assigned.
