Job summary

Essel is seeking a reliable Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team in Washington. The role involves operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting heavy machinery used in construction, excavation, and landfill gas projects to ensure safety and efficiency on site.

Key duties include operating excavators, bulldozers, skid steers, and loaders; reading blueprints; and adhering to all safety protocols. CDL is preferred and HAZWOPER40 is a plus, with standard company benefits provided.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience operating heavy equipment in construction or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of jobsite safety practices and OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints.
  • CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate excavators, bulldozers, skid steers, and loaders.
  • Perform site preparation, excavation, grading, trenching, and backfilling.
  • Inspect equipment daily and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Follow safety protocols and jobsite rules.
  • Collaborate with crew members for safe and coordinated operations.
  • Assist with landfill gas collection and leachate system excavation if required.
  • Read and interpret project plans, blueprints, and site layouts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
