Job summary

LEMOINE is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to support our Civil Construction Team. This role involves safe operation of heavy equipment for earthwork, grading, and material handling, with grade control experience preferred.

Ideal candidates will have experience operating bulldozers and excavators, and a valid driver's license is required. The position emphasizes safety, reliability, and adherence to project plans and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant heavy equipment experience may substitute.

Responsibilities

• Safely set up and operate heavy equipment in accordance with project plans, specifications, and procedures.
• Operate equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, backhoes, front-end loaders, and track hoes to move dirt, aggregate, and other materials.
• Adjust machine settings to complete work accurately, efficiently, and within tolerances.
• Control equipment using hand and foot levers for diesel, electric, or gasoline-powered machinery.
• Interpret signals and grade stakes to determine proper placement of materials.
• Operate on uneven terrain as required by site conditions.
• Assist with lifting, positioning, and securing materials during installation or placement activities.
• Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and complete inspection checklists.
• Conduct minor maintenance and routine cleaning of equipment.
