Job summary

Gibralter Border Barriers in the United States is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely operate heavy construction equipment and support daily field operations on heavy civil projects.

Responsibilities include performing daily equipment inspections, excavating and grading as required, following grade stakes and site plans, and maintaining a clean, safe work area while complying with all safety rules. Authorization to work in the United States is required.

Qualifications

• Previous heavy equipment operating experience strongly preferred.
• Experience in heavy civil construction, site development, excavation, grading, or similar field construction work strongly preferred.
• Experience operating multiple types of heavy construction equipment preferred.
• Valid driver's license and applicable equipment certifications preferred, where required.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy construction equipment, including excavators, loaders, dozers, skid steers, rollers, and other equipment as assigned.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance, mechanical, or safety concerns.
• Excavate, grade, load, backfill, compact, and move materials based on project requirements.
• Follow grade stakes, site plans, and supervisor direction to complete assigned work accurately and efficiently.
• Work safely around ground personnel, other equipment, utilities, excavations, and active work zones.
• Assist with general site activities and support field crews based on project needs.
• Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
• Follow all company, project, and site-specific safety requirements.
