Summary: The Workforce Group/LEMOINE company is seeking experienced and dependable Heavy Equipment Operators to join our Emergency Response Logistics Support Reservist Cadre Team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting emergency operations by safely operating various types of heavy equipment—potentially including telehandlers and forklifts—to load, unload, and transport essential supplies and materials. As part of a highly responsive logistics team, you’ll help ensure the timely and effective delivery of critical resources to disaster‑affected areas.

These seasonal positions and, if activated, will likely require travel on short notice, generally lasting from several days to a few weeks and possibly 30 days or more, depending on the disaster response needs. Ideal candidates for these missions will be available to deploy within 24 to 72 hours of notification.

Location: Disaster Response Locations in Louisiana

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy equipment to load safely, unload, and move materials and supplies.
  • Support the setup and demobilization of logistics operations at deployment sites.
  • Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance on assigned equipment.
  • Assist with general material handling and logistical support tasks as needed.
  • Follow all safety regulations and operational protocols to maintain a secure work environment.
  • Work collaboratively with logistics and field operations teams to meet response objectives.
  • Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A valid certification(s) for operating heavy equipment (e.g., telehandlers, forklifts) is required. This role involves working in a variety of environmental conditions, including outdoor and potentially hazardous settings. Flexibility to work irregular hours—such as nights, weekends, and holidays—is essential, especially during emergency deployments. The position also requires the ability to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods.

  • Proven experience operating heavy equipment in logistics, construction, or emergency response settings is preferred.
  • Must be physically capable of lifting heavy materials and working outdoors in diverse environmental conditions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills are preferred.
  • Previous experience operating heavy equipment (e.g., loaders, excavators, cherry pickers, bulldozers) is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation is required.
