Job summary

Walsh Reclamation is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator for projects across Nevada. Based from Elko, NV, the role requires operating excavators, bulldozers, graders, backhoes, skid steers, and loaders on active jobsites.

You will perform daily inspections, basic maintenance, and coordinate safely with the crew while upholding site safety procedures. Pay ranges from $20.00 to $40.00 per hour, depending on experience, with travel to remote Nevada job sites required.

Qualifications

• MSHA certification or ability to obtain prior to start.
• Ability to navigate mountain terrain without GPS or survey guide.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators, bulldozers, graders, backhoes, skid steers, and loaders on jobsites to excavate, grade and move earth and materials.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance (fueling, greasing) and report issues.
• Coordinate safely with ground crew and other operators, follow all site safety procedures, and keep equipment clean and in good working order.

Our home office is based in Elko, Nevada, with job sites located throughout the state. Candidates should be prepared to travel to various job sites across Nevada as work assignments require.

Position Summary

Operates heavy machinery - including excavators, bulldozers, motor graders, backhoes, skid steers, and loaders - to excavate, grade, and move earth and materials on jobsites. Performs daily equipment inspections, basic maintenance (fueling, greasing), and reports mechanical issues. Coordinates safely with ground crew and other operators, follows all site safety procedures, and keeps equipment clean and in good working order.

Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hour, depending on experience

• Required Qualifications
  • MSHA certification (or ability to obtain prior to start)
  • Have the ability to navigate mountain terrain without GPS or survey guide
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in mining, exploration, reclamation, construction, or excavation
  • Valid driver's license
• Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work on uneven terrain for extended periods
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing throughout the workday
  • Ability to work extended hours, overtime, and travel to remote job sites as required
  • Must be able to wear appropriate PPE and conduct field inspections
