Job summary

Ledcor Technical Services is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment on telecom projects across North America. You will perform light maintenance and assist with restoring job sites to their original state, while prioritizing safety and teamwork.

The role requires a clean driving record, a valid driver's license (CDL a plus), and at least two years of heavy equipment experience.

Qualifications

  • Two years of experience in heavy equipment operation.
  • Valid driver's license; CDL is an asset and may lead to higher pay.
  • Clean driving record and ability to pass background and drug screenings.
  • Experience with John Deere dozer, skid steer, mini excavator, or back hoe.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment.
  • Provide light maintenance and routine service to equipment.
  • Operate equipment, hand tools and lifts heavy items up to 50 pounds.
  • Read underground utility locates and ensure safe digging practices.
  • Maintain a healthy and safe work environment for the crew, the public, the customer, and Ledcor.
  • Assist with restoring job sites back to their original state.

Job description

As an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator with a proven ability to work alongside crew members in a high-pressure environment, you will maintain project quality to help build telecommunications networks. Essential Responsibilities
  • Safely and efficiently operating heavy equipment
  • Providing light maintenance and routine service to equipment
  • Operating equipment, hand tools and lifts heavy items (up to 50 pounds)
  • Reading underground utility locates and ensuring safe digging practices are always being adhered to
  • Maintaining a healthy and safe work environment for the crew, the public, the customer, and Ledcor
  • Assist with restoring job sites back to their original state
Qualifications
  • Candidates must possess and maintain a clean driving record and a valid driver's license; those holding a valid CDL are eligible for additional pay in recognition of the enhanced skills and responsibilities associated with the license
  • Experience operating a John Deere dozer, skid steer, mini excavator, and / or back hoe is an asset
  • Two years of experience in Heavy Equipment operation
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check, pre-access drug and alcohol screenings
  • Experience with safely operating a variety of large and small power equipment, light vehicles and properly towing/backing-up trailers
Work Conditions
  • Able to meet the physical requirements of the position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 50 pounds), working at heights, and in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, heat etc.)
  • This position will require travel throughout the state of Montana as needed - per diem and travel accommodations will be provided when traveling overnight and out-of-market
