Job summary

J.J. Barney Construction is seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to support safe and efficient concrete installation and maintenance on diverse projects in Michigan.

You will operate telehandlers, excavators, loaders, and more, ensuring precise execution and high-quality standards. Ideal candidates will have prior concrete construction experience, knowledge of formwork and shoring, and the ability to handle strenuous tasks.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as Heavy Equipment Operator on concrete construction or similar projects.
• Knowledge of concrete formwork and shoring techniques.
• Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks (kneeling, bending, lifting).
• Strong work ethic and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment (telehandlers, excavators, loaders, skidsteers) for concrete projects.
• Excavate for foundations, pavement, sidewalks, curbs.
• Support concrete placements and formwork installation/dismantling.

Overview

We are looking to employ experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to perform a range of duties that are crucial for safe and successful concrete installation and maintenance.

Responsibilities

At J.J. Barney Construction, you will have responsibilities based on the construction project’s needs, but they will typically include, but may not be limited to:

• Operating heavy equipment (telehandlers, excavators, loaders, skidsteers, etc) in support of concrete construction projects
• Excavating for foundations, pavement, sidewalks, curbs
• Providing support during concrete placements
• Providing support for concrete formwork installation and dismantling

Experience and Skills Required:

• Prior experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator on concrete construction or similar projects.
• Knowledge of concrete formwork and shoring techniques.
• Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks that may include kneeling, bending, and lifting heavy items.
• Strong work ethic with an unwavering commitment to quality and professional work.
• Ability to carefully follow written and verbal directions.
