Job summary

Crystal Clean is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to treat and dispose of waste using earth moving and construction equipment. You will follow safety procedures and SOPs while handling waste, reagents, and soil.

Daily duties include inspecting and maintaining equipment, reporting unsafe conditions, and following the work plan set by supervision. Experience with excavators, backhoes, bulldozers, loaders, and graders is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School education or equivalent with additional specialized training in heavy equipment operation.
• Minimum: Heavy Equipment Operator Construction 3–5 years.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain earth moving and construction equipment to handle waste, reagents, and earth.
• Report unsafe conditions or non-compliance to supervisor.
• Follow the work plan established by supervisor or manager.
• Remove hazardous waste from equipment as directed.
• Inspect and perform daily maintenance on equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Job description

POSITION PURPOSE:

Perform various duties to treat and/or dispose of waste through the operation of earth moving or construction type equipment.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate and maintain earth moving and construction equipment to handle waste, treatment reagents, and earth in a manner consistent with Heavy Equipment Operations Training, ESOI Safety Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Report any condition, practice or circumstance observed while receiving, treating and disposing of waste, which is unsafe and/or which will result in damage to the stabilization containment building and/or active disposal cell or will be cause for facility non-compliance, to the Supervisor or Manager.
• Act according to the waste handling and construction work plan established by the Supervisor or Manager.
• Remove hazardous waste from equipment prior to removal from the active waste area or disposal cell under the direction of the Supervisor or Manager.
• Act to inspect and perform daily maintenance on equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
