Job summary

GFL Environmental is seeking an on-site operations professional to support landfill operations and uphold a safe working environment. You will liaise with customers and contractors, ensure compliance with health and environmental regulations, and contribute to the site's safety culture.

The role requires experience with heavy equipment, teamwork, and a commitment to continuous safety improvements. A high school diploma is required and the schedule is typically Monday–Friday with occasional

• Assist with litter pick-up and promote safety and environmental practices.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, he/she supports the landfill operations while maintaining asafe working environment.

He/she is responsible for maintaining ongoing communication with theLeadership Team.

He/she will also be in contact with customers and contractors on site; as suchhe/she must provide excellent customer service.

He/she is responsible for working in compliance withall Company policies and procedures as well as any related Health, or Environment Regulations.

He/she is responsible for continuing and improving the site's safety culture.

Experience/aptitude in operating heavy equipment and general maintenance is required.

Duties

• Ability to efficiently operate heavy equipment and landfill support equipment in a safe andefficient manner.
• Works with a team to accomplish landfill operations tasks.
• Performs and communicates routine maintenance and safety inspections and on vehicles andmachines.
• Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
• Littler pick-up as needed.
• Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

A typical schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, with an occasional Saturday as needed.

Working Conditions

Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting,pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.

Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks,which require following basic safety precautions.

Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.

Minimum Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
