Job summary

Esposito Construction LLC is seeking an Equipment Operator with field experience to support multiple job sites across New Jersey. The role involves operating loaders, dozers, and excavators, performing earth-moving tasks, and supporting pipe installations while maintaining safety.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, a self-starter, able to coordinate with crews, and comfortable reporting on progress and material usage.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy machinery including loaders, dozers and excavators.
• Experience with site work, earth moving, and utilities installation is required or preferred.
• Pipe experience is a plus but not required.
• Must be able to work in a team setting and be physically capable of lifting/moving materials.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy machinery for excavation, trenching, and backfilling on underground utility and heavy civil projects.
• Dig and prepare trenches for water, sewer, storm, and other pipe installations while working safely around utilities.
• Load, move, and place dirt, gravel, and other materials to support pipe installation and site work.
• Assist in assembling, laying, and connecting pipe systems in trenches according to project specs.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and crew to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion.
• Stage and manage equipment and materials on-site to keep operations running efficiently.
• Provide input for daily/weekly reports on progress, material usage, and equipment operation.
• Follow strict safety protocols and contribute to trench safety and a culture of safety.

Candidates must have experience running loaders, dozers, excavators and various other machines. Candidates must also have knowledge of site work, earth moving, and utilities installation. Experience with pipe and/or utility work is a plus. We are seeking someone who is motivated, hands‑on, self‑starter with a proven track record.
