Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a Dredge and Plant Operator to run heavy equipment and perform routine maintenance in a hydraulic dredging environment. You will operate a skid steer, front end loader, and manlift, while assisting with plant safety programs and inspections.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, 1+ year related experience, and a valid US driver’s license. Bi-lingual is a plus; candidates should be prepared for long hours, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of dredge mining equipment.
• Perform daily inspections of equipment and work area.

• Maintain consistent and efficient operation of the plant.
• Inspect and lubricate equipment and plant operations.
• Diagnose and assist in troubleshooting when process is interrupted.
• Test material to maintain specs; no DOT training necessary.
• Perform preventative maintenance and pre-shift inspections.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job description

Martin Marietta is currently looking for a Dredge and Plant Operator to be responsible for operating heavy equipment and maintenance of the plant. This position will perform routine maintenance and repairs, including cutting and welding, in a hydraulic dredging environment. Primary responsibility is to safely and efficiently perform maintenance or repairs on all plant and mobile equipment. Track maintenance and repair records. Use a skid steer, front end loader, manlift and clean around plant equipment and to maintain roadways and parking areas. Additionally participate in safety inspections and plant safety program.

Minimum Education and Experience

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position that regularly requires long hours and weekend work.

Working conditions

This job will require operating with larger equipment which is typically air conditioned. There will be times when outside assignments that may require periods of work in all weather conditions-heat, cold, wet or dry. May have exposure to dust, sand, gravel, diesel exhaust, etc.
