is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to work at our Golden Triangle Mill Service location in Columbus, MS. The role performs repair and maintenance of heavy-duty off-road construction equipment and offers career progression into a Lead Man or Maintenance Manager. You will diagnose, dismantle, reassemble, and weld components, read schematics, and use diagnostic software to troubleshoot malfunctions while complying with safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Comply with all safety regulations, policies, and record-keeping.
• Dismantle and reassemble trucks, machines, and equipment to gain access to the problem area.
• Maintain work area to allow safe movement and access.
• Visually inspect and listen to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions.
• Read schematics.
• Utilize diagnostic software to troubleshoot malfunctions.
• Weld, cut, and fabricate equipment and components.
• Meet customer service expectations.

The Levy Group of Companies is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to work at our Golden Triangle Mill Service location in Columbus, MS. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic performs all functions pertaining to the repair and maintenance of heavy-duty off-road construction equipment. This position allows for career progression into a Lead Man or Maintenance Manager.

Skills

• Ability to Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Mechanical aptitude
• Knowledge of off-road heavy equipment
• Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, braking systems, electrical systems, drivelines, steering mechanisms, and suspensions
• Tier IV Emissions experience
• Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, climb or crawl under or on top of equipment
• Ability to manipulate components in hard to reach places with hands or tools
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid Driver’s License
• Willingness to perform other duties as assigned.
