Job summary

Five Rivers Cattle Feeding is seeking a maintenance mechanic to ensure operation of machinery by performing preventative maintenance and repairs on rolling stock such as feed trucks, tractors, and other heavy equipment.

You will locate problems, remove defective parts, and assist with inventory and safety compliance while adhering to company policies. This role requires knowledge of diesel engines and basic software skills, plus a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of vehicle mechanics and heavy equipment including diesel engines.
• Basic knowledge of Word Processing, Spreadsheet, and Database software.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to solve practical problems in variable situations.
• Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs for rolling stock including feed trucks, tractors, and other heavy equipment.
• Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices and using precision measuring/testing instruments.
• Remove defective parts using hoists, and hand/power tools.
• Manage department parts and tool inventories and control costs.
• Comply with safety rules and policies and keep the shop organized.
• Maintain professional knowledge by attending workshops and reviewing publications.
