Job summary

Sierra Pacific Industries in Sonora, California is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to perform maintenance on diesel and heavy equipment at our sawmills and facilities. The role emphasizes preventative maintenance, safety, and efficiency in a large, integrated wood products company.

Qualifying candidates should have 2 years of diesel/heavy equipment experience and knowledge of engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.

Qualifications

• 2 years' diesel/heavy equipment mechanic experience.
• Working knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems preferred.
• Experience working on multiple machines including the listed equipment.
• All applicants must be at least age 18.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and routine maintenance on diesel/heavy equipment including front-end loaders, forklifts, and excavators.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical defects.
• Conduct safety inspections of equipment and maintain maintenance records.
• Operate equipment as needed.
• Perform duties in a timely and efficient manner.
• Maintain work area appearance and safety.
• Work may include various shifts, overtime, weekends and holidays during busy production times.
• Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
