Job summary

Peckham Industries, Inc. is seeking an experienced technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of heavy construction equipment and machinery.

You will help ensure equipment operates efficiently, minimizing downtime and upholding safety standards on job sites. Responsibilities include inspecting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, performing preventive maintenance, and using diagnostic tools to identify faults.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in the service/repair industry for Auto/Heavy Truck and Equipment.
• Knowledge of gas and diesel engines, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Flexibility to meet the company’s needs.
• Legal right to work in the U.S.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy construction equipment and machinery.
• Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Perform regular preventative maintenance and overhauls on various types of heavy machinery and vehicles.
• Proficient with diagnostic tools and basic computer skills to identify fault codes.
• Test equipment after repairs to ensure proper functionality and safety standards are met.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and services performed, including inventory management for parts and tools.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Work closely with team members and management to prioritize and complete work efficiently.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior mechanics as needed.

3. Ownershipandcaring.Proficientwithdiagnostictoolsandbasiccomputerskillstoidentifyfaultcodes.Identifyfaultycomponentsandreplaceworn-outordamagedparts(engineparts,transmissions,hydrauliccomponents,etc.).
4. Testequipmentafterrepairstoensureproperfunctionalityandsafetystandardsaremet.
5. Measurement.Maintainaccuraterecordsofrepairs,maintenance,andservicesperformed,alongwithinventorymanagementforpartsandtools.
6. Safetyalwayswins.Ensurecompliancewithallhealthandsafetyregulationsandcompanypolicies.
7. Respectandengage.Workcloselywithotherteammembersandmanagementtoprioritizeandcompleteworkefficiently.
8. Assistintrainingandmentoringjuniormechanicsasneeded.

Requirements,EducationandExperience:
