The State of New Hampshire, Department of Transportation, Bureau of Mechanical Services, has a full-time vacancy available for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
To perform journeyman level diagnostic and repair work on fleet equipment to ensure its serviceability.
Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
Education/Experience: Equivalent combination of 4 years of education and experience after completion of high school. Education and experience must be in automotive mechanics, heavy equipment technology, or mechanically repairing and servicing heavy equipment.
Valid driver’s license
Trainee Option: Candidates with an equivalent combination of 3+ years of relevant education and experience after completion of high school, or candidates that do not hold the required Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-B) but otherwise satisfy the minimum requirements, may be considered and hired in 'trainee status’ for this position.
Completion of apprenticeship training (8,000 hours) in automotive service and repair, heavy equipment technology or related field.
Possession of Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-B) with air brakes.
