Job summary

Aerotek is seeking qualified Heavy Equipment Mechanics for a contract-to-hire role in Limerick, PA. The position focuses on maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on excavators, bulldozers, trucks, and cranes, with on-site work and multiple shifts.

You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance, read schematics, and ensure safe, reliable operation of equipment. Pay ranges from $25-$35/hour with benefits.

Qualifications

• Experienced heavy equipment mechanic with strong diesel and gasoline engine repair skills.
• Proficient in diagnostics and preventive maintenance.
• Ability to read schematics and blueprints, perform welding and fabrication, rebuild components, and safely use hand and power tools.
• Experience maintaining construction equipment, trucks, and fleet vehicles.
• CDL Class A/B (or ability to obtain), clean driving record, and technical training or related heavy equipment maintenance experience preferred.

Job Description: The Equipment Mechanic performs routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of construction equipment and vehicles, including excavators, bulldozers, graders, cranes, and trucks. This role focuses on ensuring all equipment operates safely and efficiently by conducting inspections, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and completing both preventative and corrective maintenance. The Equipment Mechanic works closely with the construction team to minimize downtime, maintains accurate service records, and stays current with industry trends and evolving equipment technologies.

Essential Skills

• Experienced heavy equipment mechanic with strong diesel and gasoline engine repair skills, including hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, brake, and transmission systems.
• Proficient in diagnostics and preventive maintenance
• Ability to read schematics and blueprints, perform welding and fabrication, rebuild components, and safely use hand and power tools.
• Experience maintaining construction equipment, trucks, and fleet vehicles.
• CDL Class A/B (or ability to obtain), clean driving record, and technical training or related heavy equipment maintenance experience preferred.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
