Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Morenci operations, located near Morenci, Arizona, seeks a maintenance professional to assist with a variety of heavy equipment tasks. You will support journeyman mechanics, perform preventative maintenance, and help document work orders in a safety-minded, on-site role.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or GED and are capable of following English-language instructions and safety procedures across shifts in a 24/7 operation.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
• Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
• Completed academic and practical competencies required and ability to pass written assessments where required

Responsibilities

• Safely assist with maintenance and repair of heavy equipment such as Haul Trucks, Water Trucks, Dozers, Front-end Loaders and Motor Graders
• Assist Journeyman Mechanics with maintenance activities on transmissions, engines, brakes, differentials, pumps, motors and torque converters
• Perform preventative maintenance activities on heavy equipment
• Complete Work Orders and other maintenance documentation
• Troubleshoot equipment problems
• Perform housekeeping duties and work area checks
• Operate equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and small mobile equipment
• Perform other duties as required
