Job summary

FiberTel, LLC is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic for Sacramento, CA. The role focuses on diagnostics and repairs for skid steers, excavators, dozers, and fleet trucks, with travel across California.

The ideal candidate brings extensive diesel repair, hydraulics, electrical skills, and welding experience, plus a CDL and certification. You will receive a service truck, tools, and must bring your own basic tools.

About this Role

FiberTel is looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Field Mechanicfor our Sacramento, CA location.

The Heavy Equipment Field Mechanicwill be responsible for traveling to our job sites in California and performing diagnostics and repairs on our heavy equipment and fleet trucks. The preferred applicant will have vast experience in the industry, able to do about anything needed to fix all aspects of equipment like skid steers, mini's, excavators, dozers, plows and such. This includes things like electrical, engines, hydraulics, welding, etc

We will provide a service truck and specialized tools. Must have your own basic tools.

Pay: $40-60/hr, DOE

What You'll Do

Position Responsibilities:

• Inspect, maintain, and repair heavy equipment
• Travel to job sites all around California
• Perform engine repairs and maintenance
• Perform safety inspections
• Inspect, maintain, and repair transmission systems
• Make necessary repairs to hydraulic and air brakes
• Repair and maintain HVAC systems
• Make electrical repairs
• Perform oil changes as needed
• Maintain a clean work area, tools, and equipment

What You'll Bring

Position Qualifications:

• 5+ years experience in heavy equipment mechanic work
• Computer skills including things like word, and excel
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to manage a schedule and organize time
• Willing to travel out of state (60%)
• Experience with heavy diesel repair and maintenance
• Experience with hydraulic and electrical repairs
• Knowledge of fuel systems; both diesel and gas
• Ability to perform electrical diagnostics using a scanner
• Welding Experience
• Experience with Ford 6.7 Diesel and GM 6.6 Duramax (Preferred)
• Safety Inspection certified(Preferred)
• Management experience (Preferred)
• Class A CDL(Highly Preferred)
• Diesel mechanic certified (Required)

*Paid based on experience.

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Required)
• Diesel Mechanic Certification or equivalent experience

Compensation Range

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $40.00/Hr. - USD $60.00/Yr. depending on experience and qualifications.
