Job summary

Lever, Inc. is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic to service and repair heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, cranes, and other motorized gear. The role involves hands-on work, potential emergency response, extended hours, and travel within and outside the state.

Starting pay is $23.00/hour, with higher pay based on experience. This is a full-time direct-hire position requiring up to 50% travel and 24/7 emergency availability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED and diesel mechanic trade-school training or equivalent.
• 5+ years of maintenance experience with heavy equipment.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, cranes, and other motorized equipment.
• Meet with Shop Foreman for daily assignments and priorities.
• Maintain access to parts, tools, and equipment to keep repairs moving.
• Complete work orders with mileage, hours, and repair details on time.
• Communicate emergency repair needs to prioritise properly.
• Collaborate with team to minimize equipment downtime.
• Keep tools, equipment, and work areas organized.
• Follow safety rules and procedures; perform additional duties as assigned.

Position Summary

We are hiring an experienced Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic to service and repair heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, cranes, and other motorized equipment. This role is hands‑on and may require emergency response, extended hours, and travel within and outside the state.

What You’ll Do

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, cranes, and other motorized equipment.
• Meet with the Shop Foreman for daily assignments and work priorities.
• Keep repairs moving efficiently by maintaining access to required parts, tools, and equipment.
• Complete work orders accurately and on time, including mileage, operating hours, and repair information.
• Communicate emergency repair needs to the Shop Foreman for proper prioritization.
• Work with the team to complete repairs and minimize equipment downtime.
• Keep tools, equipment, and work areas organized.
• Follow all applicable safety rules and procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of maintenance experience working with heavy equipment and/or trailers/cranes.
• At least 5 years of experience in two additional technical areas, such as hydraulics, electronics, or small engines.
• High school diploma/GED plus diesel mechanic trade‑school training or equivalent education.
• Two years of technical/vocational school training and five years of hands‑on repair experience.
• Professional certifications related to heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
• Strong sense of urgency and ability to deliver results.
• Comfortable working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Travel & Availability

• Up to 50% travel may be required.
• Must be available 24/7 for emergency repairs.
• Must be willing to travel out of town and out of state.
• Ability to work extended hours when operational needs require it.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent bending, twisting, stooping, walking, and lifting.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
• Regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to handle items over 75 lbs. with assistance.
