Job summary

Climax Molybdenum is seeking a Light Duty Equipment Diagnostic Mechanic I to perform diagnostics, maintenance and repair on heavy equipment at site locations. The role requires practical mechanical experience, the ability to read blueprints and strong safety practice adherence.

On-site workers may receive a housing allowance and the site operates with non-standard schedules. The position offers opportunities for training and career growth within the Freeport-McMoRan family.

Qualifications

• Two years’ mechanical/maintenance experience or equivalent education/experience.
• Ability to understand and apply written work instructions and safety procedures in English.
• Ability to prioritize repairs and exercise good judgment.
• Ability to troubleshoot machine systems and read blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic, maintenance and repair of heavy equipment (haul trucks, water trucks, loaders, dozers, graders).
• Replace/repair transmissions, engines, brakes, differentials, pumps and other components.
• Perform mechanical/lubrication maintenance on hydraulic, powertrain and engine systems.
• Maintain work orders and conduct area inspections.
• Operate mobile equipment (cranes, forklifts, boom trucks).
• Welding (Carbon arc, Plasma, Mig, Tig, Stick).
• Fill-in Supervisor duties as needed and mentor others.
