UPS Supply Chain Solutions, Inc. is hiring a Mechanic 1st Class to maintain and repair a variety of equipment including delivery vehicles, heavy-duty machinery, on-road tractors, and trailers from multiple manufacturers.

The role focuses on diagnosing and fixing issues with hydraulic brakes, transmissions, air brakes, electronic systems, and engines; includes shift flexibility and regular maintenance duties in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description:

The Mechanic 1st Class is responsible for the upkeep and repair of a wide array of equipment, such as delivery vehicles, heavy-duty machinery, on-road tractors, and trailers sourced from different manufacturers. They specialize in diagnosing and fixing issues with hydraulic brakes, transmissions, air brakes, electronic systems, and engines. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Repairs diesel, CNG’s and gas vehicles.
• Operates standard and manual transmission
• Operates power and pneumatic tools
• Ensures all vehicles are maintained regularly and in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

• Ability to lift 70 lbs./32 kgs.

Must be willing to work 2ndor 3rdshifts, including Monday through Friday, Sunday through Thursday as well as Tuesday through Saturday schedules, depending on the location’s needs.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment and occasionally outdoors
• Must possess the required hand tools required to perform the applicable job assignment.
• Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Preferred
• Meets D.O.T requirements required by job assignment
• ASE certifications- Preferred
• Bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crouches, crawls, climbs ladders and stairs, stands, walks, and turns/pivots frequently throughout duration of workday

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The starting pay for this position is $40.05 per hour. For union-represented postings, wage rates and ranges and benefit offerings are governed by applicable collective bargaining agreement provisions.
