Job summary

Oshkosh Corporation’s Vocational Tennessee team is hiring a Manufacturing Technician to install, troubleshoot, and operate specialized systems on the McNeilus Volterra Electric Refuse Collection Vehicle. You will lead and train the assembly team during builds and final inspections, ensuring quality and safety.

This role requires mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic expertise, strong schematic reading, and clear communication with team members.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Five or more years of mechanical experience in automotive or machinery applications.
  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience.

Shift Overview

Monday – Thursday: four 10-hour days, 6:00am–4:30pm

Summary

The Manufacturing Technician will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and operating special systems on McNeilus Volterra Electric Refuse Collection Vehicle. The Manufacturing Technician will be called upon to lead and train operations assembly team in the proper use of any of these systems during build process and final inspections. The Service Technician must develop effective communications and must have a positive working relationship with all team members.

Your Impact

Manufacturing Technicians are required to have mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic system experience and must be able to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics and layouts. Advanced troubleshooting skills are required. The ability to communicate well with all team members and customers is also required. Good computer skills are preferable.

  • Build new products

  • Diagnose and rework high-voltage systems
Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Five or more years of mechanical experience in automotive or machinery applications
  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience
