The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, Inc. is seeking a skilled mechanic responsible for servicing and repairing a wide range of automotive and construction equipment. You will operate and diagnose diverse vehicles, perform engine and hydraulic repairs, and maintain accurate service records.

QA, safety and regulatory compliance are essential in this role. Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma, a valid CDL with endorsements, and relevant automotive technology credentials or equivalent

Qualifications

• Completion of high school or equivalent certification.
• Must possess a valid Class B CDL and pass the CDL road test by end of trial period (current employees) or probationary period (new hires); OR have a valid Class A learner’s permit and pass the Class A CDL road test by end of trial period (current employees) or probationary period (new hires).
• Must possess a valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT Physical Card).
• Must possess a valid Class 4 or Class 7 PA state inspection license; OR must possess a Class 1 PA state inspection license and obtain a valid Class 4 or Class 7 PA license within 90 days.
• A degree or certification in automotive technology or 3 years of automotive mechanics experience in gasoline/diesel/alternative fuels.

Responsabilités

• Repairs and overhauls automobiles, trucks, tractors, air compressors, cement mixers and other equipment.
• Operates various types of motor vehicles and applies knowledge of equipment systems.
• Repairs engines, transmissions, clutches, brakes and all parts of automotive equipment.
• Checks and balances wheels for proper alignment.
• Analyzes, troubleshoots and tests electrical components; performs repairs as required.
• Troubleshoots, repairs or rebuilds hydraulic systems.
• Keeps and reports on service and repair records.
• Inspects all PTC vehicles for compliance with state regulations.
• Completes diagnostic work on gasoline, diesel and alternative fuel engine systems.
• Performs minor welding.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
