• Strong skills in Diesel Mechanics and Heavy Equipment repair; troubleshooting engines, hydraulics, and drivetrains.
• Experience with Vehicle Maintenance and Equipment Maintenance for construction and agricultural machinery.
• Ability to perform Preventive Maintenance and scheduled services to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
• Working knowledge of diagnostic tools, service manuals, and electronic control systems for modern diesel equipment.
• Commitment to safety practices and proper PPE use; adherence to shop and field safety protocols.
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, service bulletins, and manufacturer specifications.
• Effective communication and teamwork with service, parts, and sales teams.
• Certification in diesel technology or heavy equipment repair; prior experience preferred.
• Capable of physically demanding tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.

Role Description

The Heavy Diesel Mechanic is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Savannah Area, responsible for maintaining and repairing diesel-powered construction and agricultural equipment. Day-to-day responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, performing routine and preventive maintenance, and completing repairs on engines, transmissions, and related systems. The role involves inspecting heavy equipment to identify wear and damage, ordering or requesting parts as needed, and documenting work performed in service records. The Heavy Diesel Mechanic collaborates with service advisors and other team members to prioritize work orders, ensure timely turnaround, and uphold safety standards in the shop and on customer sites. This position requires hands-on work with various brands and models and occasional field service visits to customer locations.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Diesel Mechanics and Heavy Equipment repair, including troubleshooting engines, hydraulics, and drivetrains.
• Experience with Vehicle Maintenance and Equipment Maintenance for construction and agricultural machinery.
• Ability to perform Preventive Maintenance, inspections, and scheduled services to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
• Working knowledge of diagnostic tools, service manuals, and electronic control systems for modern diesel equipment.
• Commitment to safety practices, including proper use of tools, PPE, and adherence to shop and field safety protocols.
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, service bulletins, and manufacturer specifications.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with service, parts, and sales teams.
• Relevant technical training or certification in diesel technology or heavy equipment repair; prior experience as a heavy diesel mechanic or similar role is strongly preferred.
