Job summary

Seneca Resorts & Casinos in Salamanca, NY is seeking a Heavy Cleaner to maintain the cleanliness of casino public areas and back-of-house spaces according to casino standards. The role requires operating cleaning machines such as buffers, burnishers, carpet cleaners and escalator cleaners, and can involve both individual and group work.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma or GED, prior customer service experience, and the ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced, high-noise environment.

The Heavy Cleaner will be responsible for the cleanliness of all public areas and non-public areas according to casino standards. All duties must be performed within the guidelines of the Seneca Gaming Corporation’s policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**1. Maintain the cleanliness of the casino, hotel lobby, spa/salon, back of house and restaurants. Duties include the operation of cleaning machines such as buffers, burnishers, carpet cleaning machines, escalator cleaning machines and other miscellaneous cleaning equipment to ensure consistent cleanliness.2. Required to carry out individual assignments as well as working with a group.3. Must have basic knowledge of and work with various cleaning chemicals.4. Assist in other projects as directed. As necessary, heavy cleaners will be required to complete light cleaning tasks such as restroom and floor attendants.5. Maintain a current understanding of all policy and guidelines regarding information security including the Seneca Gaming Corporation Acceptable Use Policy. Understand and comply with all information security policies and procedures at all times.6. Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicates in a pleasant, friendly and professional manner at all times. Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers and staff.7. Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies.8. Must complete all required SGC Training programs within nine (9) months from commencement of employment.9. Attend all necessary meetings.10. Hours are determined by a 24-hour schedule. **QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:****Education/Experience:**1. Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment.2. High school diploma or its equivalency preferred.3. Previous customer service experience preferred.4. Must be familiar with proper use of all cleaning equipment and chemicals.5. Knowledge in the operation of cleaning machines such as buffers, burnishers, carpet cleaning machines, escalator cleaning machines and other miscellaneous cleaning equipment.6. Previous house keeping experience is a plus. **Language Skills and Reasoning Ability:**1. Must possess excellent communication skills.2.
