Job summary

Webber, a Ferrovial company, seeks an entry-level construction helper to assist foremen and skilled workers at sites around the Jacksonville area. The role involves learning on the job, performing a variety of manual tasks, and ensuring safety procedures are followed.

Ideal candidates have limited formal education, are physically capable of heavy labor, and possess a valid driver’s license for site access and commuting. Training is provided on site.

Qualifications

• Less than a High School Diploma.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Able to pass a background check for security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Digging, spreading and leveling dirt, sand and gravel using a pick, shovel or rake.
• Lift, carry and hold construction materials, tools and supplies.
• Clean tools, equipment, materials and work area.
• Mix, pour and spread concrete, asphalt, gravel and other materials using hand tools.
• Join, wrap and seal sections of pipe.
• Perform a variety of routine non-machine tasks such as removing forms, filling excavations, placing pipe sections in trench and assembling sections of pipe.
• Perform a variety of machine tasks such as tapping soil, jack hammering and assisting in the fusing of pipe.
