Job summary

Skanska is offering an internship program in New York for students pursuing Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related fields. Interns will gain hands-on experience in engineering, field engineering and related areas under supervision of project managers and department staff.

Qualified candidates are working toward a Bachelor’s in construction management or engineering and have basic knowledge of construction phases, geometry and algebra, plus proficiency in MS Office and industry

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in construction related field or equivalent through experience.
• Knowledge of basic phases of construction projects.
• Knowledge of mathematics functions (geometry, algebra).
• Computer skills (MS Office, HCSS, CGC, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Support project teams in engineering and field operations.
• Assist with estimating, safety and maintenance tasks.
• Collaborate with project staff to promote timely project delivery.

The Skanska Internship Program targets students that are pursuing construction related degrees, but Skanska will consider individuals that may not have formal education opportunities, but demonstrate a strong desire to become part of our company at an entry level. Pay rate $25/hour.

Reports To: Project Manager, Superintendent and/or Department Staff

Intern Positions Include: Engineering, Field Engineering (Mechanical or Civil), Cost Engineering, Safety Engineering, Estimating, and Equipment/Maintenance.

Engineering Internship Required Qualifications:

• Working towards Bachelor's in Construction Management, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or related field or equivalent through experience.
• Knowledge of basic phases of construction projects
• Knowledge of mathematics functions (geometry, basic algebra)
• Computer skills (MS Office, HCSS, CGC, etc.)
