Job summary

The United States Space Force is seeking an HVAC Equipment Mechanic to install, maintain, repair, and modify sophisticated HVAC/R systems at Buckley AFB, Colorado. You will test and calibrate Direct Digital Controls and electronic systems, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot complex equipment across large facilities.

Responsibilities include reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical orders to plan work, and ensuring safe, compliant operation of critical climate control

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining large HVAC/R systems in commercial/industrial settings.
• Reading electrical diagrams and schematics is required.
• Secret security clearance is required for this position.

HEATING VENTILATION AIR CONDITIONING EQUIPMENT MECHANIC

• Hiring Agency: United States Space Force

The primary purpose of this position is to install, maintain, repair, and modify small and large/complex heating (includes heating boilers and single and multiple fuel power boilers), ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems.

Key Responsibilities

• - Performs pretest, operational (functional), and final testing; final tuning; alignment; and/or calibration of highly complex Direct Digital Controls (DDC) electronic systems, industrial electronic controls, pneumatic components, Hydraulic loading equipment, and/or subassemblies and Preventative Maintenance (PM).
• - Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains a variety of large commercial and industrial refrigeration and air conditioning systems and supporting equipment for different kinds of structures such as large office buildings, warehouses, hangars, communication center, link training rooms, and other areas with sensitive equipment with complex problems and extensive repairs requiring judgment to locate malfunctions.
• - Installs, modifies, overhauls, repairs, and maintains a variety of complex heating boilers and/or heating systems, single and multiple fuel power boilers, and associated auxiliary and pollution control equipment.
• - Repairs, and/or modifies various types of electronically controlled industrial equipment characterized by moderate complexity of design, construction, and function.
• Applies knowledge of electronic theory and circuits and basic logic circuits to power, timing, and motion controls, and similar devices which are found in boiler combustion control systemsi heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning control systems (HVAC) - Performs preventive maintenance on HVAC/ systems and equipment and electronic control systems to include disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, and calibration.
• Utilizes the TRIRIGA computer generated program in the performance of preventive maintenance (PM) on Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, Nitrogen Generators, and associated systems.
• - Plans and lays out work from electrical and electronic block diagrams, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical orders for large complex commercial and industrial systems and supporting equipment used to condition air in warehouses, hangers, and large office buildings and mission critical assets.
• - Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment.
• Uses and assures proper fit of required safety equipment and clothing, such as safety shoes, glasses, ear protection, face masks, and/or hard hats.
