Responsibilities
- Leads and implements direct prevention services and public health policy, system and environmental change strategies related to Tobacco Free Environments, Teen Pregnancy Prevention, Maternal and Child Health, and Health in Arizona Policy Initiatives to improve health outcomes for Gila County communities.
- Develops and implements evidence-based strategies that promote health programs and services; assesses and identifies community health requirements; assists with developing and implementing community health programs.
- Leads planning, development, coordination, and implementation of direct health services and comprehensive policy, systems, and environmental strategies to address neighborhood-level changes that positively influence the health of community residents, especially in low-income communities.
- Collaborates with multiple sectors and partners to identify common interests and formulate systemic and collaborative approaches that improve health education and prevention programs, projects, and activities.
- Provides administrative guidance to assigned personnel, ensures compliance with departmental policies and procedures, ensures public health programs are consistent with appropriate public health laws and regulations, and acts as liaison between the funding representatives and Deputy Director.
- Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual reports in accordance with grant reporting requirements.
- Assigns activities to other employees occasionally.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor’s Degree or demonstrated public health experience with considerable analytical skill and project follow-up in a public health setting; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Minimum Years of Directly Related Experience Required
Two (2) years directly related experience; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Professional Credentials Required
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
