Job summary

Weir seeks an Oven Operator to load and manage large industrial ovens, perform heat treatment on castings, and maintain accurate records and controller settings. The role requires physical stamina, lifting capability, and familiarity with safety practices in a high-temperature environment.

The position involves manual handling of heavy parts, occasional forklift use, and adherence to a zero-harm safety culture. 1st shift availability is expected, with onsite work at the Mississippi facility.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing or foundry experience.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong reading, writing, math, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to stand and walk on concrete for up to 10 hours per shift.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work around castings up to 1,200 lbs with lifting equipment.
• Work in temperature-variable environments near ovens up to 1,900°F.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to complete logs and data documentation.

Responsibilities

• Must have good upper body strength and flexibility.
• Walk/stand up to 10 hours a day.
• Handle casting up to 1200 lbs with a jib crane.
• Manually lift castings up to 40 lbs.
• Some forklift driving.
• Commit to zero-harm safety culture.
