Job summary

Hartford HealthCare Heart & Vascular Institute seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for an Outpatient Electrophysiology Cardiac Device Clinic. You will manage pacemakers, ICDs, CRTs, and loop recorders, perform interrogations, and oversee remote monitoring.

Qualifications

  • CT license or eligibility (unrestricted)
  • PA or NP trained with credentialing for cardiology
  • Current national board certification for applicable profession
  • BLS certification current
  • ACLS required or obtained within the specified timeframe

Responsibilities

  • Manage patients with pacemakers, ICDs, CRT devices, and loop recorders
  • Perform device interrogations, diagnostics, and programming adjustments
  • Oversee remote device monitoring and assist nursing staff with complex device management
  • Evaluate and manage antiarrhythmic medication patients in outpatient setting
  • Conduct post-hospital follow-ups, pre-device evaluations, and post-ablation follow-ups
  • Educate patients on device function, incision care, remote monitoring, and ICD shock protocols
  • Collaborate with electrophysiologists to optimize device performance
  • Assist with device management during MRI studies, procedures, and hospitalizations
  • Travel between clinic locations as needed

Electrophysiology Advanced Practice Clinician - Cardiac Device Clinic

We're seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our growing Electrophysiology (EP) Device Clinic team. In this role, you'll provide specialized care to patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs), including pacemakers, ICDs, CRT devices, and implantable loop recorders. Working closely with electrophysiologists, device nurses, and the broader cardiovascular team, you'll help ensure exceptional patient outcomes through device management, outpatient follow-up care, remote monitoring oversight, and patient education.

Schedule: Full-Time, 40 Hours

Qualifications

  • Licensure: Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligible)
  • Training: Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner from an accredited program
  • Current national board certification appropriate to specialty
  • Current BLS certification
  • ACLS certification required or obtained within the organizationally specified timeframe
Preferred Requirements
  • Experience in cardiology, electrophysiology, cardiac device management, critical care, emergency medicine, or procedural-based care preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
