Job summary

Colorado Springs Cardiology in Colorado Springs is seeking a Nuclear Technologist to join our team and contribute to high-quality cardiac imaging using SPECT and PET. You will work closely with physicians to deliver diagnostic and therapeutic imaging that informs patient care and outcomes.

Responsibilities include patient preparation, radiopharmaceutical handling, dosimetry, quality control, and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Certification and current licensure as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB or ARRT-N).
• Experience with SPECT and PET imaging, especially in cardiac care.
• Strong technical skills with imaging equipment and quality control procedures.
• Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, administer, and measure radioactive isotopes for diagnostic, therapeutic, and tracer studies under physician direction.
• Operate and maintain imaging equipment to produce SPECT and PET scans for physician interpretation.
• Perform cardiac imaging procedures to detect and assess abnormalities.
• Take patient histories, explain procedures, answer questions, and ensure patient comfort and safety.
• Calculate, measure, and document radiation dosages and radiopharmaceuticals.
• Conduct quality control checks, calibrate laboratory equipment, and maintain accurate records.
• Safely handle and dispose of radioactive materials in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Support departmental accreditation by maintaining thorough records and assisting with compliance.
