Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking an audiologist to assess, diagnose, and manage hearing, balance, and related disorders in patients of all ages. The role involves evaluating audiologic function, counseling on options, and coordinating with ENT as needed.

The candidate will perform vestibular testing, hearing aid fitting, and may work with implantable devices; a Virginia audiology license and PECOS/NPI are required. A $15,000 sign-on bonus is available.

Qualifications

Au.D. required at hire for new hires; current employees need Masters + 4 years in audiology or Au.D.
Licensure as an Audiologist in Virginia; PECOS enrollment within 3 months of hire; NPI required.
BLS from American Heart Association is required.

Responsibilities

Evaluates audiologic function and interprets findings with patients or guardians.
Documents case history and test results in medical records; communicates with referring physicians.
Counsels patients on treatment options for hearing loss and funnels to ENT when appropriate.
Counsels on management of chronic tinnitus and hearing conservation education.
Evaluates vestibular function for dizziness, vertigo, or imbalance and performs related tests.
Performs canalith repositioning maneuvers for BPPV and counsels vestibular rehab where appropriate.
Performs and interprets electro-physiologic and specialized tests of auditory pathways.
Assesses hearing in infants and young children with comprehensive test batteries.
Involves fitting and evaluating hearing aids and arranging referrals for devices covered by benefits.
Assists with advanced implantable devices and vestibular testing as needed.
