Job summary

Blue Shield of CA is seeking a senior Full Stack Engineer to design and deliver mission-critical healthcare applications. You will bridge UI, services, and data, ensuring scalable, secure systems that clinicians and patients rely on.

You will work with cross-functional teams, apply modern front-end and back-end tech, embrace AI-assisted coding, and navigate regulated environments while balancing delivery speed and business value.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in full stack development.
• BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Proficiency in modern front-end frameworks (React, Vue, Angular) and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience building backend services and APIs using .NET, Java, Node.js, Python, or similar.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and/or NoSQL databases and RESTful integrations.
• Experience developing cloud-native applications (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP acceptable).
• Experience with containerization (Docker).
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, ARM, etc.).
• CI/CD pipelines and version control (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket).
• Experience with AI-assisted coding tools in professional software development.
• Experience working in regulated environments (healthcare) preferred.
