Job summary

LAZ Parking is hiring a Valet Attendant in Oakland, CA. You will be the first and last friendly face for patients, managing car flow and assisting with meetings and events as required by Kaiser Management.

You must have strong customer service skills, the ability to drive a manual transmission, and the flexibility to work across multiple locations. High school diploma or GED preferred; prior parking experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Park and retrieve cars quickly, greet patients, and build rapport with each driver.
• Set up and breakdown conference rooms as needed.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate meetings as directed by Kaiser Management.
• Set up audio-visual systems as necessary.
• Serve as the primary contact for meeting inquiries with timely responses.
• Collaborate with Kaiser Leadership and stakeholders for smooth meeting execution.
• Identify process improvements to enhance facility operations.
• Direct traffic flow to keep cars organized with a smile.
• Work independently or with supervision as needed.
• Promote excellent customer relations and a positive LAZ Parking impression.
• Conduct daily audits and other related duties.

**The Details**

Location: Alameda Health MC - Oakland, CA

Position: Valet Attendant

Pay Rate: $25.00/ hour

Hours: Full-time, M-F / 6am to 230pm

The Spirit of the Position:

A LAZ Valet Attendant plays a significant role in the success of the company. They are the first person our clients and customers see upon arrival, and the last person our clients & customers see when they depart. A warm welcome, smiling face, and professional demeanor are of the utmost importance.

Principal Job Duties:

• Park and retrieve cars like a champ. This means carefully, efficiently, and in a timely manner. Greet all patients, take care of their needs, and develop a rapport with each person driving up to your stand.
• Set up and breakdown conference rooms as needed.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate meetings as assigned by Kaiser Management.
• Set up of audio-visual systems as necessary.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all meeting-related inquiries, ensuring timely responses and excellent customer service.
• Work collaboratively with Kaiser Leadership, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless meeting execution and operational efficiency.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance facility operations.
• Help direct traffic to keep the flow of cars clean and organized, all with a smile on your face!
• Provide a self-reliant attitude when needed. Must be able to work with or without supervision.
• Promote awesome customer relations. Smile, go above and beyond, make them love LAZ Parking the moment they meet you.
• Make sure daily audits are performed.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Strong customer service experience.
• Parking industry experience is preferred but not required.

• Ability to drive a manual transmission.
• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively both verbally and electronically.
• Ability to speak, read, and comprehend the English language.
• Willingness to be flexible, work multiple facility locations.
• Ability to operate a digital calendar on a company issued laptop.
• Ability to handle challenging and at times, emotionally charged situations.
• Must be able to work unsupervised.

Physical Demands:

• Willingness to work in the elements - heat, wind snow, rain, etc.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 25 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, and run for extended periods of time.
• Ability to bend, stoop, squat, and lift frequently throughout a shift.
