Job summary

Summit Building Services seeks a Commercial Cleaner / Medical Terminal Cleaning Technician to perform high-level disinfection of patient rooms, surgical areas, and clinical spaces after procedures, ensuring safe environments compliant with healthcare standards. This part-time role—16 hours weekly on Saturdays and Sundays, 5pm–1am—pays $16.00 per hour.

Responsibilities include following protocols, using hospital-grade disinfectants, handling biohazardous waste, and supporting infection control

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous healthcare or environmental services experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of infection control practices and cleaning standards preferred.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform terminal cleaning of patient rooms, operating rooms, and other clinical areas following established protocols.
• Clean and disinfect all surfaces, including beds, mattresses, equipment, walls, floors, and high-touch areas.
• Properly use hospital-grade disinfectants and cleaning solutions according to manufacturer and facility guidelines.
• Safely handle and dispose of biohazardous waste, linens, and sharps containers.
• Follow infection control procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Restock supplies in patient rooms and designated areas as needed.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as floor machines, UV disinfection units, or electrostatic sprayers (if applicable).
• Document cleaning activities and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
• Adhere to OSHA, CDC, and facility-specific health and safety regulations.
