Job summary

Axiom is seeking an experienced in-house attorney in New York to draft, review and negotiate a broad range of healthcare contracts, including SaaS, IT and procurement agreements, and supply chain arrangements.

You will collaborate with procurement, IT, supply chain, and business development, develop best practices for contract management and risk mitigation, advise on regulatory requirements such as HIPAA/HITECH, and support resolving disputes while staying ahead of industry trends.

Qualifications

• In-house healthcare contracts experience is required.
• Strong SaaS/IT/procurement contract management knowledge.
• Understanding of healthcare regulatory requirements (HIPAA/HITECH and privacy laws).
• Excellent negotiation, drafting and communication with non-legal stakeholders.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts specific to the healthcare industry, including supply chain agreements, SaaS, IT, and procurement contracts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, IT, supply chain, and business development, to support the company's commercial objectives.
• Develop and implement best practices for contract management and risk mitigation.
• Assist in resolving contractual disputes and provide advice on risk assessment and management.
• Stay informed about industry trends and legal developments to proactively address potential impact on the business.
• Provide strategic legal guidance to internal stakeholders on contract-related issues and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of in-house legal experience within the healthcare industry, preferably including time in a health system or other healthcare‑focused organization.
• Proven expertise in SaaS, IT, procurement, and supply chain contract management.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and commercial contracting within the healthcare industry, including fraud and abuse laws as well as HIPAA/HITECH and state privacy laws.
• Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills with the ability to convey complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
• Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Active admission to practice law in your state of primary residence.

Compensation:

The estimated total compensation for full-time Axiom attorney roles is $104,500-325,000 peryearand for non-attorney roles is $71,250-309,750 per year. Compensation decisions are based onvarious factors, including, but not limited to, experience, skills, certifications, location, and business needs.Employees may be eligible foradditionalbenefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance; paid holidays and PTO; flexible work arrangements; and professional development opportunities and tools.
