Job summary

GSSC (DBA Midwest Patrol) seeks a Security Officer to deliver security services for multiple client sites, enforcing policies, monitoring access, and patrolling interior and exterior areas. You will support client safety, perform required reporting, and collaborate with a dedicated team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must read, write and speak English clearly.
• US citizen or legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must pass state and federal background checks and drug screen.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to meet licensing requirements where applicable.
• Excellent communication, administrative, customer service and organizational skills.
• Must successfully complete GSSC Basic Training.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to think critically and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Observes and reports activities and incidents at the client site to protect property and personnel.
• Patrols the site on foot or vehicle and checks for hazards, unlocked doors, and security violations.
• Enforce Post Orders and Facility Security Plan involving personnel, visitors, and premises.
• Respond to client inquiries promptly and professionally.
• Monitor CCTV and alarm systems and respond as needed; ensure systems are functional.
• Prepare clear written reports of shift activities.
• Maintain safe driving and vehicle care practices.
• Foster a positive team environment and comply with all policies and regulations.
• Interact professionally with client personnel, vendors, and the public.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients and visitors.

Summary

Reporting to the Post Supervisor, the Security Officer is a vital team member providing security services to various clients of GSSC. The Security Officer is responsible for performing a variety of tasks per the needs of the client, which includes enforcing required security policies and procedures, monitoring alarm systems, maintaining access control for visitors and employees and providing interior and exterior foot patrols of common areas of assigned facilities, parking areas, parking ramps, and adjacent lots.

Security Officer Job Responsibilities

• Observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the security and safety of client property and personnel.
• Patrols assigned site on foot or in a vehicle; checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons.
• Enforces required security regulations and procedures pursuant to Post Orders and or the Facility Security Plan pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises.
• Responds to client inquiries in an expeditious manner.
• Monitors CCTV and alarm systems and provides appropriate response where applicable
• Ensures all CCTV and alarm systems are functional where applicable.
• Reacts appropriately, promptly and in accordance with Post Orders in emergency situations.
• Generates clear and concise written reports of shift activities.
• Maintains safe driving practices and vehicle care procedures as required.
• Creates a positive working environment and strong teamwork.
• Ensures compliance with all GSSC policies and procedures, federal regulations, state statutes, and specifications per client contracts.
• Interacts professionally and engages with client personnel, vendors, contractors and members of the public.
• Provides excellent customer service

Minimum Qualifications Include The Following

• Must have a High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to read, write and speak English
• A US Citizen or Alien lawfully authorized to work in the United States
• Must pass State & Federal background checks and drug screen
• Valid driver’s license and clear driving record (no major violations in the last 5 years)
• Ability to meet and maintain applicable state, county, and municipal licensing requirements
• Excellent communication (verbal and written), administrative, customer service and organizational skills
• Must successfully complete GSSC Basic Training
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to demonstrate critical thinking
• Ability to project a professional and positive attitude while maintaining confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications Include The Following

• 1 or more years of experience in the security, law enforcement, or military industries
• Military, Veteran, Law Enforcement, Corrections or Security related experience
